Job:
In the summer of 2016 I've Completed 38 hours of work at The Lawrence Hall Of Science. My work consisted of me assisting the workers and children at The Lawrence Hall of Science. During the weekends or weekdays I had to work at least one four hour shifts every week.
There were two jobs there either working at the summer camp at the bottom floor or the public area at the first level. The Summer camp consisted of around 10 to 15 children and assisting them in their daily activities of learning. The Summer camp would last for an entire week from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
The second job was working with children on the top level. These kids were only here for a day and with their parents the entire time.

Journal:
Week: 1
Hours: 12
I wanted to take it slow, so I took in hours at the weekend and for the whole day. This consisted of me needing to help the people on the first level. This is where kids that weren't part of the program downstairs on the second level played and learned about science. As a volunteer, my job was to sure these kids were set in a certain direction of creativity. where it allowed them to learn in the process.
These days were rough, because there were kids that you didn’t know how to work the machines, or use their tools to make their creations. Now I’m a man of patients and this type of environment was new to me and frustrating. This didn’t mean I let the kids run wild I made sure to put them at a level where these puzzles, arts, and craft were handled as a learning tool. That's what I love, I even made sure I didn’t even take breaks to feel satisfied with the day when the doors closed.
Week: 2
Hours: 26
During this week I had to work with the campers at the Lawrence Hall of science. This area of work allowed to fully connect with the kids because I only had to work with 15 of them. Usually in the play area there would be an average of 30 kids changing almost every hour or two. But it was fun most of time, in the morning the kids got to play with the toys until all of them came. Then we had science presentations teaching them about science ideas and giving them toys that influenced this idea.
The only trouble I had was a kid, named Max the problem he caused was that he would play harshly with some of the kids. I had to put myself out there to make sure that Max understood what he was doing was bad. This type of exchange not only made sure I had a better connection with him, but made his experience better overall.

Closing Report:
After completing the job I learned a lot from both the kids and the supervisors. A Job where you're supposed to entertain the kids is hard to do because you're always needed to be at your toes at all times. You never know if a kid needs help or something needs to be done and no one is around to tell you. Even a volunteer needs to know as much as a worker because if the worker is gone you need to adapt quickly. This allowed me to create a mindset where there is never a break, unless I’m given one by a worker (usually lunch time). But at the end of the day I love interacting with the kids and the workers making friends even with some I only hanged out for a few hours.
