How I interpret these topics.
Ever since I first joined Aclc in 9th grade I already knew that this school was going to be great. This is because the school I came from, didn't give me any of the same opportunities as Aclc did. This school allowed me to expand my horizons and increase my educational goals, I felt like I could challenge and push myself academically. Looking back from the 12th grade, I am proud of what I have accomplished and am glad Aclc was able to help push me towards this.
Personal qualities, Work Habits and Attitudes.
To me, leaning is a way to better myself, but it's also something I have struggled with in the past. I learned that setting goals helped me push myself. When I was in 7th grade I was placed into pre-algebra while the rest of my friends were placed into algebra. Ever since then, my goal has been to get ahead of my friends in mathematics. For three years I struggled behind them, and it wasn't until 11th grade when I took my first college class that I first started to excel. I learned that I could further my education by taking college classes in place of my regular classes. Less than a year after, I had taken calculus, calculus II, and stats, placing me firmly ahead of all of my friends in math. Now I have a new goal, I want to continue my education in math to one day be a particle or nuclear physicist.
New Basics
As a kid the first thing you learn is how to talk, and then you learn how to read. I never liked the act of reading, but I loved the knowledge that it could give me. I would struggle through books that were about science and nature, and pretty soon I was hooked. I was excited to learn more about math and science from a young age,
Ever since I was little English wasn't my strongest subject, because of this I have always taken more of an interest in science and math. Math is a universal language, an Italian mathematician can communicate with a Spanish physicist without saying a single word. This always intrigued me because I felt like my whole life I had been held back by my skills in the English language.
Thinking and reasoning Skills
Schools will offer you chances to advance for the reason to increase the probability to receive what you’re aiming for. But sometimes these incidents hit you like a wall and you just need to understand their is always another way around. For example, when entering my second semester of 11th grade I knew this semester I’m going to be entering Calculus 1 at Coa. But what I didn't know is that I had to sign up for a placement test, and see if I even going to attend the class.
When I Took the test they said that I had to start from Trigonometry, Precalculus then finally Calculus. I rejected their offer because I knew there were other ways to take Calculus now than later. I didn’t want to wait for a whole year just to take a class that I knew I was prepared for. After 10 minutes of refusing to enter Trigonometry the college advisor offered me a challenge. This allowed me write my feelings on how I felt about taking the class and, to show my confidence. After finishing the task I was allowed to take the class and pass it.
Interpersonal and collaborative Ability
Throughout my life I’ve been introduced to many people and their morals about being in a group. There are times where I would disagree with some, but then later apricate their actions. As a person willing to help any person in need, there's always room for the extra push. This happens a lot when I’m in boy scouts because younger scouts need attention and wisdom from the older scouts. And leaving a scout to learn from a book, and not a person who’s experienced, gives him ways of mistake and harder task. For example when you're given a math problem, that's already solved in front of you, are you learning? The answer is yes potentially you are practicing the skills and able to answer questions similar to the original. Now you shouldn’t baby the person, but give him a push to make sure he’s on the right way of path. As a leader this an ideal way to give orders and leave down a legacy. Because when a bad leader teaches it leaves a trail of future worst leaders in the later years.
Technology
Since the age of six I was already introduced to the world of technolgy. Playing games was a spark for a fire for my curiosity, leading me into a swirl of new interest. Now people believe that playing games gave people no opportunity about learning, but in reality gave a new outlook on life. I had turned my attention to non-fiction science shows because of games, for this reason I became more interested in science. I don’t code I don’t even program but the potential of using these tools is almost unimaginable.
Today I’m using technology to write an essay about what technology is; then later can looked at by a person 10 years from now without the worry that a word from this essay will change. This is the basis of imagining what it can do, some people use it to create businesses, others to order food, me to look at my next math class. I believe no matter where I the necessity of technology and advancement is needed. Without it, I can’t even tell you the basic what will happen if it just stopped.
